Satanick (サタニック) is a character that has appeared in a multitude of Deep-Sea Prisoner's works, including the Seaside Dispatches comic series. He is the ruling devil of Ne-no-Kuni and counterpart to his brother Fumus, who rules the world above.
Physical Description
Satanick has a peculiar design with some noticeable features. He has raceless white skin, eyes as purple as the phlox flower, and pale purple horns whose prongs curl at the tips, the texture reminiscent of old tree bark. [3]
He sports a charming sable color-schemed ensemble consisting of a black double-breasted dress suit that has been featured with black or red buttons with matching just as black dress pants. He also wears a white dress shirt under his jacket while sporting a crimson Victorian-styled bow tie along with it. His cape is black as well with its interior red wing-like appendages jutting at the top ends. He wears white gloves and black Oxfords with red soles as well.
In his character art, his attire takes on a more military theme. His dress jacket is layered with a beige coat with a darker shade of brown on the cuffs. His pants are a tad baggier with two white buttons each at the cuffs with brown combat boots on his feet. His cape takes on a similar shape as his other outfit, only with a hue closer to bronze with red spikes and diamonds decorating it. It also seems he has arm-like shadow accessories at his sides.
Satanick's nails are naturally black. [4]
Personality
Satanick is a varied character, normally appearing to be very eccentric while also displaying sadomasochistic tendencies [5] around certain individuals. He will sometimes speak in vulgar terms, which is especially expressed in the bullying that Reficul and he torment Ivlis with. He has his fair share of pushiness and pompousness but has also shown signs of a cheery childish side of himself, being carefree, and thinking highly of himself - using the Japanese personal pronoun "ore-sama" (which in English is localized to "My Magnificence"). Satanick's voice is low, sexy, and a bit similar to Fumus, though not husky. [6]
His interests are noticeably perverted, as being seen with various peculiar objects and uses innuendos often in his dialogue. He may also have knowledge regarding medieval history and lore judging by his preferences, upon surveillance of his usage of the Pear of Anguish in the now-deleted MEMOs. Similar to his older brother Fumus, Satanick will use some sort of tool when inflicting violence on others. [3]
Satanick's emotions vary from that of flamboyancy to ones of deep sorrow. His character chart on the Deep-Sea Prisoner character page shows that his emotions are all varied on the high spectrum. It has been implied that due to past traumas, Satanick drifts between happiness and depression. Deep-Sea Prisoner has also said that when Satanick goes out with a man that he really does love, he will end up getting "kinda messed up in the head." [7] When asked if Satanick would ever be (truly) happy, Deep-Sea Prisoner responded with, "I don't know." [8]
Satanick's preferred type of person is someone who looks and acts like a housewife, although they do not necessarily have to be an actual housewife. [9] If someone he liked were to touch his horns, they would feel sensitive. [10]
Satanick is the type of person who cares about his appearance and therefore underwear, so he wears a lot of stylish ones. He even sometimes dares to wear dorky ones. [11] As for his tastes, he is more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker. He prefers drinking black tea, [3] but also enjoys wine. [12]
In Seaside Dispatches 2, Victor Flankenstein remarked that Satanick is good at getting along with children. Befittingly, Satanick has been stated to be one of the best babysitters amongst Deep-Sea Prisoner's characters. [13]
Satanick's genderbend counterpart, named Satanica, has been said to have a strong mental state unlike Satanick. [14] Aside from this, however, their personalities do not differ much, as Satanica has also been shown to be quite perverted and energetic.
Background
Satanick was once "a person of great influence." [Citation needed] His older brother Fumus and him do not have parents. [12] In the past he was defeated by Gokuen, as he thought he could easily take him on. However, when asked whom was the strongest of the devils, Deep-Sea Prisoner stated it was Satanick. [12] Due to traumatic events in his past - one notable loss being someone he deeply cared for - Satanick has "old wounds that haven't been healed." [5]
In Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea -Reboot-, Satanick was shown to have created various lifeforms to make his kingdom more lively.
Satanick creating the three divine beasts and their kingdoms in a scene of Wadanohara Reboot.
He created the three divine beasts (Aounabara, Artamos, and Kigisu) to rule over the created Blue Sea, Totsusa Kingdom, and another still-unnamed kingdom in the skies.
Being a demon king, Satanick has countless lovers, being described as a "playboy." [3] As such, he is the father to many illegitimate children. However, Satanick knows of their existence and loves and spoils them; they are said to be on good terms with him. [3] He also has a daughter from a mistress of his, though this character has yet to be revealed. [15] Despite his sons Glasses and Licorice disliking him, Satanick is said to be a good father. [8]

Relationships
Relatives
Lil
Lil is Satanick's wife. Satanick's first time as a "top" was with Lil. [16] They seem to be on good terms, with Lil being willing to come home to "cheer up" Satanick. She appears to be fine with her husband's promiscuous activities. The reason behind their marriage is "a secret." [2]
Glasses
Glasses is Satanick's son - the only child born to Lil and him, and thus, the only legitimate heir. [3] Although Glasses despises his father, Satanick often tries to gain his attention by - for example - teasing him. Glasses does not respond well to this, as his trademark line is "Go fucking die, dad." When he was young, Glasses used to be on good terms with his father; they got along well. [2]
Fumus
"Various relationships" [17]
Fumus' distorted love for Satanick.
Fumus is the god of Satanick's world and his older brother. Satanick is one of the few things Fumus is attached to. He is said to care for Satanick but in "a very bad way," [8] as he has been shown to enjoy both physically and emotionally torturing his brother. An example of this was when Fumus destroyed the world that Victor Flankenstein had previously lived in, devastating Satanick. Fumus has also been shown to have s*xually assaulted Satanick due to certain mini-comics, most notably the comic titled The Cause Behind His Distorted Heart. As the name of the comic states, Fumus seems to be a prominent cause behind Satanick's distorted views. It was later confirmed during a livestream that Fumus has had several physical relations with Satanick. [14] Satanick's first experience as a "bottom" was with Fumus. [16]
As of the 2017/10/21 Sunahama relationship charts update, Fumus is confirmed to hold extremely volatile feelings towards Satanick; the arrow representing his feelings injures Satanick's icon, which is shaking and crying in fear. At the same time, they were seen interacting in a mini-comic seemingly fine. This seems to indicate that their relationship has many ups and downs. Deep-Sea Prisoner once tweeted that a phrase forbidden to be said to Satanick is, "You're a lot like Fumus," which contains implications that Satanick does not like being compared to his older brother. [18]
Although Satanick has not been seen directly interacting with his brother's subordinates, he addresses them with the honorifics of "-kun" or "-chan." [19]
On the other hand, Satanick and Fumus' genderbend versions are on good terms. [14]
Licorice
Licorice is the son of Satanick and Ivlis - Satanick being the one to have named Licorice. [20] Licorice strongly dislikes Satanick and often resorts to violence when dealing with him. He openly displays a preference for his "mother" Ivlis, whom he protects from Satanick's shenanigans. On Deep-Sea Prisoner's 17th drawing livestream, she stated that Satanick loves Ivlis and Licorice very much. [14]
However, their relationship is extremely strained, and Licorice borders on hating Satanick's very being. Licorice apparently sees Satanick as "that unpleasant, disgusting, and obviously useless thing that dares call itself my father," and nothing less. While in his adult form, Licorice will express disgust when he looks into the mirror and sees how he resembles his father. [10] Satanick, on the other hand, is rather keen on gaining Licorice's favor as he has failed with his first son Glasses. Unfortunately, Licorice does not seem to want to reciprocate those feelings.
Due to Satanick's less-than-desirable treatment of Ivlis, Licorice has chosen to live with his mother in the Flame Underworld and acts as a sort of guardian for Ivlis whenever Satanick begins to act up.
In the Distorted Love comics, Licorice goes as far as threatening to take Satanick's life even when his father is bedridden. However, before attempting to do the deed, he does make an effort to ask for Satanick's consent. When Satanick appears to give permission, Licorice seems genuinely bemused by it. However, Envi arrives and stops Licorice before anything could be done. With the two seemingly ready to cross swords, Satanick calls them out, only to begin vomiting, which stops both Licorice and Envi as Licorice looks on with a troubled expression, and Envi goes to Satanick's side. The event, however, ends with Licorice leaving without a word after his father steadies himself. In the Like Mother, Like Son comic, Licorice grows uncomfortable with Satanick's efforts in gaining Ivlis' affection. While he understands that Ivlis and Satanick's relationship improving (even just slightly) is considered a good thing for Ivlis' sake, Licorice has stated himself he is only "half-glad" about the occurrence and that he does not clearly understand about "the other half's feelings."
In the Dangerous Night comic, Licorice is seen horrified after realizing what he has done to Ivlis. It is then apparent that Licorice fears of becoming like his father Satanick. In later Sunahama updates, it is shown that Licorice continues to feel disturbed by Satanick's presence, as seen in a sketch log of Ivlis, Satanick, and him in what seems to be a family photo. It has been stated that while Satanick is publicly nasty in his desires, Licorice keeps his somewhat own quiet. [7]
Deep-Sea Prisoner once thought of an illustration idea in which Satanick cooked for Licorice. However, the meal would be Ivlis' arms. The idea was scrapped due to feeling sorry for Licorice. More importantly, it was stated that Satanick would never do such a thing to his own children. [21]
Crea Flankenstein
Crea is Satanick's adopted daughter. She was originally created by Victor Flankenstein, but before passing away, he made Satanick promise to take care of her. At first, Satanick saw her as an extraordinary creation, but soon began loving her like a daughter. The two are on good terms, and when Satanick is feeling depressed about the passing of Victor, Crea is usually there to comfort him. For example, in one drawing she offered him candy in an attempt to cheer him up.
The Gray Garden Cast
Reficul
Reficul is Satanick's acquaintance. Satanick calls her "Refi-chan." [22] They both torture Ivlis for fun and seem to be on neutral terms. Satanick can be seen sometimes calling Reficul with her being unnerved or seemingly annoyed by his shenanigans. During Ivlis' attack on the Gray Garden, Reficul had kept in touch with another devil, who in all probability was Satanick.
Ivlis
Satanick and Ivlis have a complicated relationship. Satanick is said to love Ivlis, though also tortures and sexually assaults the other devil - a twisted sense of love Satanick seemingly learned from his brother Fumus. Satanick and Ivlis have a son together by the name of Licorice.
Satanick and Ivlis met when they were introduced to each other by Reficul. As shown in Devil-based, Satanick joined Reficul in torturing Ivlis. Some time after this in Distorted Love, Satanick began to develop feelings for Ivlis. Deep-Sea Prisoner also stated during a livestream that Satanick fell in love with Ivlis during the events of Seaside Dispatches 1. [23] After much denial and contemplation, Satanick ended up confessing, earning confusion from Ivlis. Ivlis internally questioned the confession, stating that he had "never been loved." Despite his doubts and lingering past, Satanick's robot revealed in Truth that bit by bit, Ivlis' heart is "changing" since he encountered Satanick.
Satanick confessing his love to Ivlis in Distorted Love 2.
Concerning their daily life they are said to be "doing the do," [24] which is in line with Satanick having been shown to pursue Ivlis with his advances (e.g. sneaking into Ivlis' room and declaring his wish to "make love with [Ivlis]"). He also seems rather possessive of Ivlis, with it being said that if Ivlis got another lover, Satanick's feelings "probably wouldn't end at just jealousy." [10] Ivlis, in turn, cannot bring himself to hit Satanick in retaliation, for he is fearful of his advances. [Citation needed]
It can be seen in various comics after the events of Distorted Love, that the relationship between Satanick and Ivlis is slowly changing. Their son Licorice also notes this in Like Mother, Like Son. As of late, Satanick claims to be Ivlis' "understanding boyfriend" - a status he has bestowed upon himself. [25] [26] Satanick also often buries his face in Ivlis' chest and takes a deep breath. [10] He furthermore likes to use Ivlis' horns as handles; this results in fingerprints on Ivlis' horns and him frequently having to clean them. [10]
When later asked whether if Satanick would ever apologize to Ivlis, Deep-Sea Prisoner speculated that perhaps he might one day genuinely apologize. [7] She added that Ivlis may have complicated feelings regarding Satanick, but at some point, he might accept Satanick's apology. She stated, "In this world, there are a lot of relationships in which two people can be together even if they don't always completely forgive each other." [7] However, if Ivlis were to refuse Satanick's apology, Satanick would likely become severely depressed according to her. [7] When asked if Ivlis knew about Satanick's other lovers, Deep-Sea Prisoner commented that she would like to draw this in the future. [27]
Ivlis is furthermore younger compared to Satanick, who is quite old. [2] Ivlis can breathe fire like a dragon and once burned Satanick with it, almost burning his face off. [9]
In the canon timeline, Satanick's and Ivlis' first kiss would not have been happy; Ivlis would have been covered in scars and blood. In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy - Deep-Sea Prisoner's alternate universe (AU) - they have their first kiss following an invitation from Satanick during a beautiful sunset after their date. After this, they go to a love hotel. [9] Also in the AU, there exists Sataneko - a feline copy of Satanick. He was originally sent into Ivlis' house for surveillance purposes, but he rebelled against Satanick. He now lives with Burineko. [28] In canon, Satanick possesses the ability to transform Ivlis into his cat form alongside himself, trying to mate with Burineko at every opportunity. [28]
When asked in a livestream comment if Ivlis would become Satanick's concubine, Deep-Sea Prisoner responded that Satanick plans on making Ivlis into "official wife #2." Of course, Satanick plans all of this on his own, and Ivlis' opinion gets ignored. [29] Ivlis is completely unaware that Satanick has a wife or other lovers. He has had extremely little contact with people and is naïve. [30] An illustration from Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy is also evidence that Ivlis did not know that Satanick was in a relationship with someone other than himself. [30]
One artwork depicts Satanick turning Ivlis into a jellyfish, deciding to raise him by watching him all day long. However, Ivlis' mind is so affected by his current body that he becomes emotionless and just floats around. [31]
As for their genderbend counterparts, they are friends. [23] It was later stated that Satanica and Ivlin are girlfriends. [32]
Satanick keeps all of the scales and claws that he has ever ripped off of Ivlis. [21]
Kcalb
Although Kcalb tends to avoid Satanick at all costs, they are seen interacting in artworks after events of The Gray Garden. Kcalb is often mute around Satanick and barely responsive during their interactions but can turn to violence if Satanick provokes him. Satanick enjoys teasing Kcalb about his relationship with Etihw by making constant sexual jokes; on several occasions, Kcalb has beaten Satanick up for his comments regarding Etihw.
Etihw
Etihw met Satanick after the events of The Gray Garden through Kcalb. They are on good terms, Satanick finding Etihw cute. Etihw is one of the ways Satanick uses to provoke Kcalb, usually by speaking about Etihw in a lewd manner. Although Satanick finds Etihw to be cute, he has said he wouldn't "NTR" (short for the Japanese word Netorare, which means to "steal one's loved one") her away from Kcalb. However, he has also said that he wouldn't mind having a threesome with them and Kcalb.
Poemi
Poemi has yet to be shown interacting directly with Satanick, but it has been said that she is wary of him. [14] She is also unaware of what Satanick has done to Ivlis. [Citation needed] They were once seen together in the Distorted Love 2 mini-comics when she returned from a camping trip with Emalf and Licorice, only to find her father covered in Satanick's purple blood and passed out on his lap.
In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Satanick once told Poemi to call him "Papa," but she refused. [33]

- All of Satanick's subordinates were created by him. [8]

Envi's unrequited love for Satanick.
Envi is Satanick's first subordinate and acts as a personal secretary for him. As of the 2017/10/21 Sunahama relationship charts update, Envi is shown to have romantic feelings for Satanick. It has been shown that Satanick does not reciprocate these feelings. However, he is aware of them and thinks of the matter as, "Ahh, what will I do about this... I'm at a loss." [7] Gossip stories are said to not be written about Satanick for if they do Envi will cut the reporter to death." [35]
It has also been said that Envi is good with children unless they are Satanick's children. He does not think well of Satanick's illegitimate children including Licorice and warns Satanick of dealing with them. [3] However, Satanick is said to be a good father [8], even going as far as to bring Envi to the "punishment room" when he once caught the demon beating up Licorice. [3]

Seaside Dispatches 2 Cast
Victor Flankenstein
When Victor was alive, he was Satanick's close friend. Satanick had taken an interest in him and thus visited him on a regular basis. Victor was skeptical of the devil at first, but they eventually grew close to the point where Satanick started to harbor deep romantic feelings for him. These feelings, however, stayed unrequited.
When Victor fell ill, Satanick tried to convince him to come to Ne-no-Kuni, offering him his hand and a bouquet of twelve roses, which is customary to give someone when proposing to them. [36] Satanick told Victor that he could grant him eternal life so that they could be together forever. Victor refused, saying he could not imagine a life that would never end. This led Satanick into deep despair. He secretly tried to grant immortality to Victor anyway but was caught trying to do so.
Satanick stayed by Victor's side, watching him wither away until his avoidable death. Right before his passing, Victor made Satanick promise to take Crea Flankenstein to his world, which Satanick did.
The death of Victor left a permanent scar on Satanick in the form of trauma. For instance, in Distorted Love 2, Satanick is seen reminiscing about him while wrestling with his unrequited feelings for Ivlis. When asked if Satanick still thinks about Victor, Deep-Sea Prisoner stated, "It is up to imagination." [37]
Deep-Sea Prisoner responded to a question during a livestream in which it was stated that one of the reasons Satanick had not done anything terrible to Victor was because he was human. Demons and devils are much tougher than humans, and conversely, humans are much more fragile than they are. [4]
In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Victor is the infirmary teacher. [38] [9] Satanick would frequently go to the infirmary pretending to be sick just to see Victor, who would get fed up and ask, "Again?" each time. It has been confirmed that Satanick had a one-sided crush for Victor in this AU as well. [9]

Meikai
Meikai is Satanick's creation, as shown in the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea -Reboot-. Satanick created him to keep Aounabara company.
Artamos
Artamos is Satanick's creation. Satanick created Artamos as one of the three divine beasts to rule over the earth, as shown in a Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea -Reboot- bonus scene.
Satanick visiting Artamos.
Artamos generally seems somewhat annoyed with Satanick. In the Rainbow mini-comic, Envi was shown to have brought Artamos over to Satanick to help cheer him. While Artamos seemed concerned about Satanick, he became annoyed about being put into such an uncomfortable position.
Satanick will sometimes visit Artamos' world, much to Artamos' dismay. [39]
Aounabara
Aounabara is one of the three divine beasts that Satanick created to rule over the sea. Satanick also created Meikai for Aounabara to keep him company so as to not feel lonely.

Kigisu is one of the three divine beasts that Satanick created to rule over the sky.
Great Witch
Satanick and the Great Witch have never been seen interacting on-screen, but it has been said that they know each other. [14]
Other Characters
Gokuen
Gokuen shared an affinity with Satanick. [40] Satanick had a crush on him for a while, but after Gokuen dumped him, they had a falling out and a fight. [15] Satanick thought it would be as easy as cake, but Gokuen viciously defeated him. [23] Satanick is usually the stronger of the two, though for "some reason" he lost. [15]
Medouco

Siralos
"Various relationships" [17]
Satanick's and Siralos' mutual friendship/relationship.
Siralos and Satanick are friends with benefits. Deep-Sea Prisoner said in a Q&A that Satanick found Siralos cute and after sending a love letter to him, they tried dating for a while. They seem close enough that Siralos does not mind cosplaying a high school girl to fulfill Satanick's fetishes. Satanick also is romantically interested in Siralos' "disgraced creation" Ivlis.
4545
4545 is Satanick's creation and underling. He formally calls Satanick "Mr. Devil" whilst Satanick casually calls him "Forty-five." 4545 is dutiful and allegedly devoted to him. He is courteous of Satanick's feelings and is a stalwart supporter of the devil. Additionally, Satanick seems to like making puns out of 4545's name – be it playful or inappropriate – something 4545 does not seem to mind. An illustration depicts that the two may have also had relations at some point in time.
Heller
"Unrequited love" [34]
Heller's unrequited love for Satanick.
As of the 2017/10/21 Sunahama relationship charts update, Heller is shown to have feelings towards Satanick, but these feelings are not reciprocated, as Satanick is shown to be uncomfortable and even turning to look away from Heller. This could likely be because of his bad relations with her father Gokuen.
Memez
Memez and Satanick can be seen in a mini-comic. Not much is known about their relationship.
Yofunochimori
Yofunochimori can be seen wearing Satanick's logo on their hat. It is currently unknown what their relation is. Compared to Satanick, Yofunochimori is a little shorter. [27]

- It has been said that Satanica wears all sorts of panties: lace, frilly things, stripes, and polka dots. "She pays attention to fashion, even when it comes to panties." [14]
- If Satanica started a Youtube channel, she would "probably get instantly banned for streaming extreme (sexual) content." [46]
- It has been said that Satanick used to have another male lover who has yet to appear in any artworks. Not much is currently known about this unnamed character besides that they were not human, became frustrated, and apparently left Satanick. This unnamed character has also been stated to have been a mentally strong person when compared to Ivlis. Deep-Sea Prisoner has pondered about publicly releasing this character. [7]
- When asked what Ivlis', Satanick's, and Licorice's favorite foods were, Deep-Sea Prisoner responded that they all have a sweet tooth. [8]
- When asked who would suit Satanick's voice - Daisuke Ono or Mamoru Miyano - Deep-Sea Prisoner responded with Daisuke Ono; however, she pictures Satanick with an even lower voice. [8]
- Since Satanick has created other worlds (as shown in the Wadanohara Reboot), it was asked if he ever travels to any of them. Deep-Sea Prisoner stated that it depends on the location; some places he does not go to at all, particularly the ocean since it is pretty far physically. [14] However, he visits Artamos's world often. [39]
- In the regular timeline, Satanick has never met Adauchi. However, in Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Satanick has commented, "Hehe, you can call me papaaa." [33] This is due to the relationship that Ivlis and him have in the school AU.
- When Ivlis is being harassed by Satanick in the highschool AU, Adauchi will comment, "Hey, cut it out... Dad's not okay with that...." Satanick will respond, "You could call me dad, too ~." Adauchi will snap at this. [33]

KUKUKUKUAHAHAH! Right? Don't you want to play a nice game of tag like that? You'd have to escape on foot since you don't have wings, but…" (To Ivlis - 9-9 Distorted Love)
- "That's good enough. I'll allow you to give up of your own will. ...Even Licorice couldn't get into this place I've brought you to. Soon, I'll be the only thing you can recognize. ONLY ME… Now, we'll be able to… Spend so much time together…FOREVER! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…!!" (To Ivlis - Everlasting Love)

Nothing will happen, see, if you open the door. Hey, are you listening to my glorious voice? You're listening, right? I've decided that you're listening. Just open it because nothing'll happen. Absolutely nothing will happen, you see." (To Ivlis - BREAK.)
